About Us
Solid Rock Church of Jackson was founded by Pastor George Smith in August, 2008. Pastor Smith has been a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International since 1993. He and his family moved to Georgia in 1999 to assist with another ministry, leaving their jobs and their home behind - a move of faith. He served as assistant to the pastor in McDonough, Georgia for three years. In 2008 he listened to the call of God to home missions and Solid Rock Church of Jackson - UPCI was born. Pastor Smith and his wife, Diane, have been married since 1990. They have one son, Travis, who is active in the church.
We believe in One God, and his name is Jesus. We believe the scripture teaches that we must be baptized (completely immersed) in Jesus' name for the remission of sins, and that beievers must be filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Solid Rock Church believes in the absolute power of God and that He still heals, delivers and saves.
